Removals FAQ

Anglo Pacific is a UK-based specialist in overseas removals and shipping. We have over 40 years of experience and handle more than 20,000 shipments annually.

Our services cover door-to-door international moves, including packing up your household goods in the UK, transporting them overseas, and delivering to your new home. We can ship full household contents as well as smaller consignments, from furniture and personal effects to vehicles or fine art, to virtually any destination abroad.

We can ship your belongings to almost any country worldwide. Popular destinations include Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA, South Africa, Hong Kong, India, and the UAE. Through our global partner network we cover 170+ countries — if you’re unsure, just ask for a quotation for your destination.

No. We specialise in international removals from the UK to overseas destinations and don’t typically conduct domestic UK moves. We can, however, coordinate imports to the UK via our international network.

Ideally reach out 2–3 months before your intended moving date. We can often work on shorter notice, so do contact us even if your timeline is tighter.

Getting a quotation is free and easy. Choose a free home survey (London/Home Counties), free video survey (UK-wide), or a phone/online form for smaller moves and initial enquiries. You’ll receive a detailed quote with a volume assessment and clear cost breakdown.

Costs are primarily based on shipment volume (sea) or weight (air), plus route, distance, and any added services (packing, insurance, storage). If the final volume changes slightly on the day, the price may be adjusted accordingly — we explain this up front in your quote.

For private customers, payment is typically required before your goods are shipped or collected, once your quotation and booking are confirmed.

There are several reputable international movers. Anglo Pacific is often highlighted due to our scale (c. 20,000 consignments per year), experience since 1978, and credentials such as BAR membership and FIDI accreditation.

Check accreditations (BAR, FIDI), destination expertise, the service range (packing, storage, customs help, vehicles/pets), and independent reviews. Compare like-for-like quotations and prioritise clear communication — all areas we focus on at Anglo Pacific.

Costs vary by size, destination, and method. Small shipments (a few boxes) might be ~£1,000, while full household moves overseas are several thousand. As ballparks: UK→Australia by sea ~£3,000–£5,000; UK→USA ~£3,000–£4,000. For accuracy, request a tailored quotation — shared containers can reduce costs for smaller loads.

Sea freight is generally far cheaper than air (often 10–15× cheaper for the same volume). For small moves, shared/groupage containers let you pay only for the space you use, keeping costs down. Use air only when speed is essential.

By sea, long-haul routes typically take several weeks. UK→Australia/New Zealand is ~6–8 weeks port-to-port (plus packing and customs). Air freight is much faster, often ~7–10 days plus clearance.

We’re a FIDI Accredited International Mover (FAIM) and members of the British Association of Removers (BAR) Overseas Group. We hold ISO 9001 for Quality Management Systems and comply with Trading Standards Institute guidance.

Perennially popular destinations include Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA and South Africa. Europe (e.g., Spain and France) is also busy, and many customers head to Asia and the Middle East.

Yes. Our baggage/small moves services are ideal for a few boxes or luggage. Your items can ship in a shared container (groupage), so you pay only for the space you use, with professional packing, customs handling and delivery.

Yes. We strongly recommend taking out marine transit insurance/cover for peace of mind against loss or damage during international transit and handling. We can discuss options and levels of cover to suit your shipment.
