Baggage Shipping
What are you moving?
Send Your Baggage Anywhere in the World with Anglo Pacific
Whether you are relocating, studying abroad, or returning home, shipping your baggage separately from your flight saves you money and removes the stress of airline luggage limits. Baggage can includes boxes of clothes and shoes, suitcases, guitars, golf clubs, other small items. Choose Baggage Shipping if you wish to pack your own goods (we can supply you with boxes) at a weight of under 30kg per item.
We have been sending baggage overseas since 1978, during which time we have consistently advanced our services to become the UK’s largest and one of the most favoured baggage companies for home removals and baggage transport.
Anglo Pacific has shipped over 20,000 consignments a year for more than 40 years, with door-to-door collection and delivery by sea or air freight.
Choose the service that fits your situation:
Excess Baggage Shipping
If you have packed more than your airline allows, excess baggage shipping gives you a fixed price for the volume you are sending. A single 23kg suitcase by sea freight costs a fraction of airline gate fees, and there is no upper limit on how much you can send. Ideal for anyone who has outgrown their airline allowance on a long-haul flight.
Student Baggage Shipping
International students at UK universities shipping belongings home at the end of a degree, and British students heading overseas to study, both need a service built around academic calendars. We collect from halls of residence, student houses, and family homes across the UK, with delivery timed to your arrival date abroad.
Unaccompanied Baggage
Unaccompanied baggage is anything you send ahead of or after your flight without travelling with it. You are not limited by airline baggage allowances or cabin rules. We handle the customs paperwork, including the Unaccompanied Personal Effects Statement required by countries such as Australia, and deliver to your door while you travel separately.
How Baggage Shipping Works?
Shipping your baggage from the UK takes four steps. We handle the logistics, customs paperwork, and delivery so you can focus on your move.
- Get a quote. Tell us what you are sending, where it is going, and how quickly you need it there. We will send you a fixed price the same working day. No per-kilogram airline pricing, no hidden fees.
- Book and arrange collection. Once you accept your quote, we schedule a collection from any UK address. We provide sturdy double-walled boxes and packing materials, or you can pack your own. Our team collects everything on your chosen date.
- Customs and documentation. We prepare all customs paperwork for your destination country, including biosecurity declarations, personal effects statements, and any import duty exemptions you may qualify for, such as Transfer of Residence relief.
- Delivery to your door. Your baggage arrives at your overseas address by the method you chose. Sea freight typically takes 8 to 14 weeks depending on destination. Air freight delivers within 7 to 10 days. We track your shipment throughout and keep you updated.

Baggage Shipping Prices
The cost of shipping your baggage depends on three things: how much you are sending, which shipping method you choose, and where it is going. We charge by the size of your shipment, not by weight at check-in, so you know the full price before booking.
Indicative starting prices
- Single 23kg suitcase by sea freight: from around £180 door to door.
- Single 23kg suitcase by air freight: from around £320 door to door.
- Three to five boxes (approx. 0.5 cubic metres) by sea: from around £290.
- One cubic metre by sea freight: from around £550.
All quotes are fixed at the time of booking. The price covers UK collection, freight, customs documentation and delivery to your overseas address. Larger volumes attract better per-cubic-metre rates.
Sea freight vs air freight
Sea freight is the most cost-effective option for anyone sending more than a single suitcase. Transit time is typically 8 to 14 weeks depending on destination, but the per-cubic-metre cost is significantly lower than air freight. Air freight delivers within 7 to 10 days and suits single suitcases, urgent items, or smaller volumes where speed matters more than cost.

Sea freight takes 8 to 14 weeks door to door for most destinations, depending on the country. Australia, New Zealand, and the USA are typically at the longer end of that range. Air freight delivers within 7 to 10 days and suits urgent or smaller shipments.
Sea freight is the most cost-effective option for anyone sending more than a single suitcase. The per-cubic-metre rate drops as your volume increases, so consolidating suitcases, boxes, and personal effects into one shipment is usually cheaper than booking multiple smaller ones or paying airline excess baggage fees.
Yes. Airline excess baggage fees can climb past £400 for a single extra 23kg case on a long-haul flight. Shipping the same case by sea freight starts from around £180 door to door, with delivery to your overseas address included. You do not need to carry it to the airport or worry about weight limits at check-in.
Yes. Unaccompanied baggage is anything you send ahead of or after your flight without travelling with it. You do not need to be on the same flight or vessel as your belongings. We handle collection from your UK address, freight, customs paperwork including any unaccompanied personal effects declarations, and delivery to your overseas door.
Restrictions vary by destination. Most countries prohibit fresh food, plants, seeds, soil, and certain animal products. Used outdoor equipment such as hiking boots, camping gear, and garden tools must be cleaned and declared. Hazardous materials, firearms, and flammable substances are banned on all routes. We check your inventory against destination regulations before your shipment leaves the UK and flag anything that may cause a problem at the border.
Yes. We handle baggage shipping in both directions. Our partner agents collect from addresses across all major destination countries and ship back to any UK address. Returning UK residents may qualify for Transfer of Residence (ToR) relief from UK customs duty and VAT, provided you have owned and used the items abroad for at least 6 months. We help you prepare the ToR1 application before your shipment leaves.
Baggage shipping is for personal belongings such as suitcases, boxes, clothing, and small household items. You pack your own items and we collect, ship, and deliver them. International removals is a full-service household move: a surveyor assesses your home, a professional team packs everything, and your entire household is shipped in a dedicated or shared container. If you are sending a few bags or boxes, baggage shipping is the right service. If you are moving a full household, international removals is the better fit.
