International Shipping to Germany

Shipping to Germany from the UK is one of the most straightforward international routes we handle. Germany is close, just across the Channel, which means road freight gets your shipment there in days rather than weeks. Whether you are sending a few boxes, a full container of furniture or a vehicle, we manage the whole journey from your UK doorstep to your German address. We ship by road freight and air freight, with door to door collection and delivery, full customs handling and fixed pricing confirmed before you book.

We also handle shipping from Germany back to the UK. Anglo Pacific has moved belongings between the two countries for over 40 years, with more than 20,000 consignments handled every year, door to door in both directions.

How Much Does Shipping to Germany Cost

The cost of shipping to Germany from the UK depends on three things: the volume of your shipment, the shipping method you choose and your delivery address. We charge by the size of your shipment, not by weight at check-in, so you know the full price before booking.

  • Single 23kg suitcase by sea freight: from around £180 door to door.
  • Single 23kg suitcase by air freight: from around £320 door to door.
  • Three to five boxes (around 0.5 cubic metres) by sea freight: from around £290.
  • Small flat contents (around 1 cubic metre) by sea freight: from around £550.

Quotes are fixed at the time of booking and cover UK collection, freight, EU customs documentation and final delivery. For an exact figure based on your shipment, send us a rough inventory and we will respond the same working day.

Shipping Options: Road and Air Freight to Germany

For a European destination as close as Germany, road freight is by far the most practical and cost-effective way to ship. Air freight is available for urgent needs, and sea freight exists for full container household moves, but for most shipments, road is the right answer.

Road Freight to Germany

  • Ideal for cost-effective shipping and the standard method for mainland destinations.
  • Items travel as part of a consolidated load, overland via the Channel Tunnel or cross-Channel ferry.
  • Best for suitcases, boxes, furniture and full household or container-level moves.
  • Delivery time: 7 to 21 days door to door for German cities, including Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Cologne. Allow 1 to 3 additional days for EU customs clearance.

Air Freight to Germany

  • Best for urgent shipments or single items where a few days makes a real difference.
  • Goods are packed onto commercial air carriers.
  • Delivery time: upto 10 days door to door.
  • Higher cost per kilogram than road freight, so it is generally only worth the premium when timing is the overriding factor.

Sea freight is not a standard option for shipping to Germany. Given Germany’s proximity to the UK, road freight is faster and equally cost-effective for all typical shipment volumes. Sea freight becomes relevant only when you are shipping a full or shared container load, for example a large furniture consignment travelling alongside other cargo. If that applies to you, contact our team to discuss options.

Shipping to the UK from Germany

If you need to ship boxes, furniture or a vehicle from Germany back to the UK, we coordinate shipping in the reverse direction. The service runs the same way: door to door collection, fixed pricing, road or air freight, UK customs handled on arrival.

  • Collection across Germany: our partner agents collect from Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf and other locations across the country.
  • Road freight from Germany: shipments travel overland and are delivered to any UK address. Transit is typically 7 to 21 days from collection.
  • Air freight from Germany: departs Frankfurt or Munich airports with UK delivery upto 10 days of collection.
  • UK customs and ToR relief: returning UK residents may qualify for Transfer of Residence (ToR) relief from UK customs duty and VAT, provided you have owned and used the items in Germany for at least 6 months. We help you prepare the ToR1 application before your shipment leaves Germany.
