Groupage consolidates your belongings with those of other customers moving to the same Indian port. FCL (Full Container Load)
An FCL gives you sole use of a 20ft or 40ft container. It departs without waiting for consolidation, giving a shorter and more predictable transit time, approximately 2 weeks less than Groupage for the same destination. FCL suits larger household moves and customers who require a confirmed departure date.
Air Freight
Air freight to India takes up to 10 days. It is available for priority items or smaller consignments where speed is the main consideration. Due to the considerably higher cost per kilogram compared with sea freight, air freight is best reserved for essential or high-value items needed at your destination before the main shipment arrives.
How Goods Travel from the UK to India
All household removals from the UK to India travel by sea freight. Shipments to Mumbai are landed at Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT, also known as Nhava Sheva), one of the largest container ports in South Asia. Delhi-bound shipments typically arrive at JNPT or another nominated port, with road delivery completing the journey inland. Chennai shipments land at Chennai port. Kolkata-bound shipments arrive at Kolkata or Haldia port.
